What We’re Up Against
By Theresa Rebeck
The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee
A hilarious tale of six 'tweens' in the throes of puberty vying for the spelling championship of a lifetime, this Tony Award-winning production is the unlikeliest of hit musicals about the unlikeliest of heroes: a quirky, charming cast of outsiders who learn that winning isn't everything and that losing doesn't make you a loser. Perfect family fare for the holiday season!
Race
Pulitzer Prize Award-winning playwright and Tony nominee David Mamet tackles the biggest four-letter word of all – RACE! Two lawyers, one black one white, find themselves defending a wealthy white executive against the charge of raping a young black woman. When a new legal assistant gets involved, emotions bubbling just beneath the surface explode!
Let Me Down Easy
A virtuosic and moving exploration into the power of the human body, the price of health, and the resilience of the spirit, Smith takes an honest look at some difficult topics including the steroid scandal, cancer therapies, the tragedy of Katrina and the ailing American healthcare system with her trademark journalistic precision and poignancy.
Ruined
This Pulitzer Prize-winning play is a probing and courageous work about human strength in the face of unimaginable horror. Ruined is a story of silent sufferers in the Republic of Congo who, through sheer will and fortitude, transcend the abominations and embrace life to discover that love is still the binding force amidst the violence, and distrust.
The Light in the Piazza
The six-time Tony Award-winning Piazza combines the romance of Italy with a passionate love story. When a handsome young Florentine captures Clara's heart, Margaret must decide if she'll risk revealing truths that could theatren her daughter's happiness. Best enjoyed by patrons age 14+.

Golden Age
Tony Award-winning playwright Terrence McNally explores the exquisite and passionate world of opera with Golden Age, set backstage at the 1835 Paris premiere of Vincenzo Bellini's final opera, I Puritani. PTC has partnered with McNally for the world premieres of Master Class, Some Men and this season's Unusual Acts of Devotion. Following its run in Philadelphia, the PTC production will move to the Kennedy Center as part of its "Terrence McNally's Nights at the Opera" Festival. Best enjoyed by patrons age 15+.
Red Hot Patriot
Kathleen Turner will star as the "unsinkable" Molly Ivins, the famously bawdy newspaper columnist, political commentator, and bestselling author. A true Texas original, Ivins was a sharp-tongued liberal who skewered the political establishment and the "good ol' boys" with a heaping helping of her unforgettable wit and wisdom. This one-woman play celebrates Ivins' endurance and tenacity even when it seemed like a complacent America wasn't listening.
"A first-rate actress!" –The New York Times' Ben Brantley on Kathleen Turner
